Pic. 1. Mauser C96 Replica
Very popular among our clients, a Mauser C96 replica, in 1896 was offered to civilians, officers and governments. With time it became widely known and used by British officers, but as soon as the beginning of World War I, C96 was not that popular anymore. Interestingly, the weapon was in use during various colonial wars, such as the Second Boer War. Some of the weapons were imported and copied, where they were used, for example by the Chinese people in the Chinese Civil War or the Second Sino-Japanese War. What is more, it is said that even Winston Churchill was a fan of Mauser C96 and because of that is was used by him in battles.
Presented replica is a German pistol Mauser C96. Originally produced by German arms manufacturer Mauser from 1896 to1937. Unlicensed copies of the gun were also manufactured in Spain and China in the first half of the 20th century. In service during Irish Easter Rising (1916), Irish Independence War (1919-1921), Estonia-Soviet War (1918-1920), Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) and World War II. Total number of produced pieces are one million pieces.
Mauser C96 worked on short recoil operation. It has integral box magazine in front of the trigger with relatively capacious magazine (10-round) fed by stripper clip. Most common versions had 7.63 x 25 mm Mauser ammo. Despite that magazine made barrel was heavier, Mauser is considered as a effective and unfailing weapon ? jammed very rarely. The muzzle velocity was 425 m/s and effective firing range 150-200 m. Mauser C96 has V-notch rear tangent sight adjustable up to 1000 meters.
