Pic. 1. MP40 Schmeisser replica
Our assortment includes this MP40 Schmeisser replica. This model was created and designed by Heinrich Vollmer in 1938. Vollmer was inspired by the weapon's predecessor, which is MP 38. He created such a gun, that it was widely used, for example by paratroopers, squad leaders on both Eastern and Western fronts, and many other groups. The MP 40 was characterised by high quality, innovative mechanisms and various attractive features. That was the reason why this model was very often chosen by soldiers. Interestingly, it is commonly called Schmeisser, despite the fact that Hugo Schmeisser was not involved in the design of this model.
Presented weapon is a replica of legendary submachine gun MP40. MP 40 (MP designates Maschinenpistole) were submachine guns developed in Nazi Germany and used extensively by Fallschirmjäger (paratroopers), platoon and squad leaders, and other troops during World War II. It descended from its predecessor, the MP 38 designed in 1938 and produced in 1940-1945. One of the symbols of World War II.
The MP40 submachine gun was open-bolt, blowback-operated automatic weapon. Fully automatic fire was the only setting, but the relatively low rate of fire (550 shots per minute) allowed for single shots with controlled trigger pulls. The magazine is 32-round for 9x19 mm Parabellum cartridge. The muzzle velocity gained 400 m/s and effective fire range is 100 meters. Replica is standard black colored with removable magazine and folding stock. Made of zinc and aluminum alloy with a plastic handle casing.
